ROPPELT – In loving remembrance of my wife, ELIZABETH ROPPELT, who departed this life one year ago today, January 10, 1918.

Often from my heart comes a bitter cry:
“Why, oh, why, did my wife die?”
Then comes the answer, so solemn and deep:
“Your loving wife, Elizabeth, is only asleep.”

BY HER HUSBAND, WM. G. ROPPELT

SCHAFER – In loving remembrance of our dear father, JOHN SCHAFER, who died one year ago , January 10, 1918.

 Gone, but not forgotten.

BY HIS DAUGHTER, MRS. HOWARD JANNETT, AND SONS, CHARLES AND EDWARD SCHAFER.

SHICK – In loving remembrance of LENA, who departed this life one year ago, January 7, 1918.

If your ask me do I miss her,
Yes, it fills my heart with pain,
But her spirit sweetly whispers,
“Courage, mother, in heaven we will meet again.”

As the evening sun is setting
    Ofttimes as I sit alone,
In my heart there comes a feeling
That my Ventress must come home.

 BY HER DAUGHTER

                          LENA SANDERS

TAYLOR – In loving and tender memory of my dear wife and mother, EMMA A. TAYLOR, who died one year ago today, January 10, 1918.

 She is not dear,
     Mother of our affections,
But gone unto that rest
Where she no longer needs our protection
And Christ Himself doth rule.
Day after day we think what she is doing
In those bright realms of air,
Year after year her tender steps pursuing,
     Behold her grown more fair.

     HER HUSBAND AND SONS,

              WILLIAM H. TAYLOR,

               CLARENCE H. TAYLOR,

               G. WILBUR TAYLOR.
